My life after leaving the 9 to 5 – Week 1

It’s been somewhat of a hectic week, settling into Hub Southern Cross, dealing with Magento and Web App Development leads, meetings and not as many billable hours as I’d like. I worked out at my client’s office in Mitcham (which is where I’m staying at the moment) for a day and a half which is more than half of the billable hours. I did a total of 16 billable hours @ $150 this week which is $2,400.
What I realised is – getting money from sources other than an employer is not an issue at all. There are 3 decent, 10k+ leads in the pipeline – one of which I have a meeting for today over beers. There is also a monthly retainer lead in the works.
As I write this, things are looking reassuring! Quitting the 9 to 5 was honestly a scary move but if every week is like this first week, I’d need to clone myself pretty quickly to meet the demand.
Note to self: More billable hours. Don’t fall behind schedule.
