Things I'm Doing in 2020 to Better Myself

I'm a sucker for self-improvement / personal development. It sounds corny and cringy. Myself from 10 years back would have never imagined that I'd turn out this way, but I have and what am I doing in 2020 to be a better version of myself?

  1. Learning Chinese. The only material I had purchased before to learn Chinese was an Audible audio book from Pimsleur back in 2018 - which by the way is fantastic. Today I've committed to a yearly subscription that costs $205 AUD for the app - HelloChinese, as recommended by a High School friend.
  2. Exercising 3 times a week. This is something I've been doing for the past 6 months, and have been noting down in my calendar as to what exercise I did that day. Although I've not strictly always done 3 times a week, it's been an average of 2 to 3 times a week for the past 6 months. This year, I would like to definitely average out to 3 times a week, with a stretch goal of 4 times a week.
  3. Writing everyday. So far, after switching to Ghost from WordPress, I've written enough posts to average out to one per day or more in 2020 - it's only the 4th of January today though so I'll need to really keep it up to be able to do this. Oh, thanks to my friend Duncan for giving me this tip. He's written about this very topic in depth. looks like a pretty good tracker for things like this. I've used similar apps in the past called HabitLoop and a bunch of others but I didn't really keep using them.

Google Calendar has been fantastic in helping me keep a record of my exercises and so on - so I may end up just using Google Calendar instead of having to keep 2 apps going or having to migrate stuff over from Google Calendar to - but I'd like to try it out at the very least.
